这次竞赛是为引导中山电工向现代控制技术方向发展，促进电工对高新技术的应用，加快中山电工高技能人才队伍的培养和成长，为了中山产业升级和转型服务。竞赛分为分为初赛、选拔赛、复赛和决赛四个阶段。奖项分别有个人奖和团体奖。比赛全过程由监察机关和社会监督员进行监督。
通过这次竞赛，提高了学生的技术水平和应对临时问题的能力。
